What we measure and why:

IMPACT

How much force you put on the horse’s back. In trot, the horse is constantly altering between accelerating and decelerating. Together with the rider’s weight, this generates an excessive impact on the horse’s back. In our system, your impact is expressed in kilos.

IMPACT VARIATION

The variation of your impact on the horse’s back. Your movements up and down should be balanced. We assess how even these movements are to help you maintain a stable position that is synchronized with the horse. Right now only for sitting trot.

RHYTHM

The regularity of your rhythm. A regular rhythm is key to clear communication with your horse. We assess the consistency of your rhythm to enhance the effectiveness of your riding.

STABILITY/BALANCE

The stability/ balance of your forwards and backwards movements. Are you before or after your horse’s movements?A well-balanced rider moves smoothly with the horse, keeping a stable position when the horse alters between accelerating and decelerating. We assess your forward and backward stability and balance to ensure you’re in harmony with your horse.

STABILITY VARIATION

The variation of my forwards and backwards movements. Your movements forward and backward should be balanced. We assess how even these movements are to help you maintain a stable position that is synchronized with the horse.

How to use it:

1. Use a bum bag for your mobile or put your mobile phone in the waistband of a pair of tight riding trousers

2. Warm up your horse in all three gaits for 15 minutes.

3. When ready to start, choose if you want to measure your position in sitting trot or rising trot. Then press start.

Place your unlocked mobile phone, with the volume at its highest level if you don’t use headphones, in the tight-fitting bum bag or your waistband with the screen facing your body. The bag should be positioned horizontally at the small of your lower back, centered on your body. Start, and follow the instructions from the app. Ride for 90 seconds. You’ll be alerted after 45 seconds to change the rein. After the measurement, your data will be saved, and results will appear in the app!
